Very Brief Advice in Smoking Cessation (VBA)- Stoptober

Very Brief Advice in Smoking Cessation (VBA) is a unique module supporting professionals working within the community to identify people who smoke and who could benefit from quitting.
This session will cover:
• Tobacco History and Addiction
• Quit Well Newham Stop Smoking Service - What the service provides and a breakdown of treatment programme
• How to motivate and refer people to the service - Behaviour change and breakout sessions covering smoking case studies (typical clients that come to the service - what would you say to them)
• How to Refer - Different ways to get in touch with the service.

Housing & Homelessness Training

Please note this training is for frontline workers and volunteers only. Residents cannot attend this training.

Homelessness, or the threat of homelessness, continues to be an issue that affect many of our service users. In an area like Newham, where demand is high and accessing housing often comes with barriers, the solutions can sometimes seem complex. The session is intended to help identify these obstacles and how to overcome them. Homelessness can be resolved, but will only be achieved by building stronger partnerships and understanding the landscape in which we operate.
